Choosing the Base
Rechargeable Base Flashlight
The traditional flashlights with alkaline batteries are cheaper, the batteries run longer and you can have spares. But with advanced technology at your doorstep, you can opt for the ones with rechargeable battery bases and various other attractive features.
You can choose from various kinds of rechargeable batteries when deciding on a rechargeable base flashlight. You can also choose from a range of bulbs – the Xenon bulb, the fluorescent bulb, the halogens, etc. Basically – it is the intended use for the flashlight that helps to decide what kind to buy.
A three volt lithium battery in any given size provides almost three times more power than an alkaline battery of the same size while weighing about half as much. The Nickel-Cadmium rechargeable batteries and the Nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries are excellent options for getting long term high performance from a rechargeable base flashlight, even under rugged conditions, at a reasonable expense. The initial purchase price is higher and they self-discharge at a higher rate when in storage, but for long term use rechargeable flashlights offer significant savings over disposable battery ones.
Rechargeable flashlights can often support a brighter bulb like the durable LED (Light Emitting Diodes), the extra-bright XENON BULB, long lasting HID (High Intensity Discharge), etc. and store conveniently in custom charger holders.
