Wall Mount Rechargeable Flashlight - 7 Reasons Why You Need A Shake Flashlight

Wall Mount Rechargeable Flashlight

You've seen them on T.V. many times. Shake flashlights-just shake one for a few seconds and voila! Instant, bright light. But besides the novelty of it all, are these things for real or even practical? The answer is yes, they are for real and extremely practical for everyday application. Here are seven good reasons why you need a shake flashlight:

1. Needs no batteries. A flashlight with dead batteries is useless. An old stick is just about as useful as a dead flashlight. And there's probably nothing more frustrating than reaching for a flashlight, only to find out it is completely dead. With a shake flashlight, dead batteries are never a problem. A shake flashlight needs no batteries because it uses the Faraday Magnetic Method to recharge the flashlight again and again. Different brands and models of shake flashlights vary in effectiveness but some of the better ones can give light for hours with just a few seconds of shaking.

2. Rugged construction. There are several different brands of shake lights, and they are not all constructed equally, but it's fair to say that many of them are built for rugged use. While it's probably not a good idea to use one as a hammer, shake flashlights can nonetheless take some abuse like being dropped on the floor without damage. Housed in a clear shatterproof high-tech casing, a shake flashlight can operate in extreme hot or cold environments without diminishing performance.

3. Water resistant. Drop a regular flashlight in the water and it won't work anymore, at least not until the batteries, bulb, and other components are dried out. That's not a problem for a shake flashlight however, which is water resistant to 20 feet or more.

4. Long Life LED bulb. The long-life LED bulb illuminates up to a 30 ft. radius or more, depending on the model and can withstand light drops and bumps. Because the LED lamp consumes very little energy, it doesn't generate heat, which is the enemy to standard light bulbs.

5. Set it and forget it. It doesn't need batteries, so you can store your flashlight and literally forget about it until you need it. Put one in your car's glove box, one in your kitchen, one in the tool box, one in the garage, one in your R.V., one in your boat etc.

6. Environmentally friendly. In many areas batteries can't be thrown away with the common trash, even though many people do so. Batteries contain toxic chemicals that can leach into the ground and cause contamination of the soil and ground water. Because there's no batteries in shake flashlights, there's not the disposal problem you have with regular batteries. This makes shake lights more environmentally friendly than battery powered flashlights.

7. Because they're way cool! These aren't you grandfather's flashlights (although your grandfather may have one by now). A shake flashlight is one of those items that always gets attention, a real conversation piece. Models that come in various translucent colors look especially cool when they're on. Why settle for one boring color when you can have several!

Led Flashlight - The Batteryless Flashlight - Good Bye Dead Batteries

Led Flashlight

How often have you gone to get a flashlight only to find the batteries were dead? Too often I'm sure, and it's very frustrating. Well, a batteryless flashlight may be the perfect answer.

How does a batteryless flashlight work?

Actually, there are a few different models of these types of flashlights. The first is called the shake flashlight. Just as the name implies, you give it a shake and the LED light powers it up. Once it's going, it will stay on for approximately 30 minutes or so.

When the shake flashlight begins to go out, just shake it again. The LED bulbs in these lights are good for 10,000 hours before needing replaced.

One thing to be aware of with these lights is their magnet. A shake flashlight uses a big magnet inside. This magnet can be attracted to anything nearby that is magnetized. You have to keep them away from computers.

Another type of batteryless flashlight is the kind that comes on by being squeezed.

When you squeeze the casing it starts a small dynamo generator that in turn runs the LED light. Different models will have different run times.

Lastly, you can find a wind up flashlight. It works internally like the squeeze flashlight in that it has a small dynamo generator that runs the LED bulb. The difference is that it has a foldaway handle that you wind up to give it power.

These flashlights are great for use around the house or car. Put them in the glove box of the car or in a kitchen drawer.

You won't have to worry about changing batteries and they work very quickly when you need. So, don't let your old battery flashlight leave you in the dark. Get one of these units before you need it the next time.

7060 Pelican Flashlight - A Flashlight Which Can Last For Up To 100,000 Hours, Light Emitting Diodes

7060 Pelican Flashlight

The problem with the standard flashlight is that either their batteries or their bulbs seem to be dead every time there?s a power failure. Unless you have ultraviolet vision, changing batteries in the dark, assuming that you have them, can be an exercise in futility.

Before 1990, LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) were used in electronic equipment, digital signs, and key ring lights. A LED is a semiconductor device that emits incoherent narrow-spectrum light when electrically biased in the forward direction. This effect is a form of electroluminescence. The color of the emitted light depends on the composition and condition of the semi-conducting material used, and can be infrared, visible or near-ultraviolet. The main limitation of the LED was that before 1990, it was difficult to adapt LEDs for commercial use because they only emitted coloured light. But then, in 1993, Shuji Nakamura won the distinction of developing the first high-brightness GaN LED which was able to emit bluish-white light.

Nowadays, LEDs are everywhere, and are especially common in flashlights. The advantages of a LED flashlight are tremendous. LEDs can be significantly more efficient at lower power levels, and use less battery energy than normal lightbulbs. LED flashlights also have longer battery lifetimes, and in some cases can run hundreds of hours before the batteries are drained (although the LED efficiency advantage diminishes at higher power levels). Not only do LEDs consume significantly less power than traditional flashlights, but the LED bulb also lasts for up to 100,000 hours.

Because of the extremely efficient nature of the LED bulb, very little power is required to generate bright light. Therefore, a small LED flashlight, such as the Trailblazer LED flashlight (with up to 21 super-bright LED bulbs), generates relatively little heat. Made of durable aluminium construction, Trailblazer?s LED flashlights are made to last. If you consider the fact that LEDs can survive sharp blows that often break conventional lightbulbs, this flashlight could easily last an entire lifetime.

Police Flashlights - Military Flashlights

Police Flashlights

Military flashlights have come a long way from the brass body metal screw days of World War II. The flashlight used during those days was called the TL-122A. This flashlight and all other subsequent versions of it had their head angled at ninety degrees to the body. The next flashlight in this range was the TL-122B. It had a plastic body but it had a foul smell about it due to the presence of a waxy compound that was used to seal it. The TL-122C had a design which was moisture proof and the quality of the plastic was improved too. The last in this range was the TL-122D. This one had lens filters along with a spare bulb. In the Vietnam era, the same design was used but now the flashlight also had a switch guard.

At present, the straight line design (or the wand design) is in vogue with the military. There are a number of different models available which have the straight line design. Use of rubber seals and waterproofing technology are basic to all military flashlights. There are special batteries, known as BA-3030 batteries that are used for cold conditions instead of the regular D cell battery or the BA-30 battery. These days, most of the flashlights used by the officers in military services, use xenon lamps. These are extremely powerful and have a very high light intensity. At present, lithium batteries are the most commonly used power source for these flashlights. The run time of these flashlights can be anywhere between one hour to twenty hours.

The weapon lights are required to be more powerful than the ordinary army torch. They give light of an intensity of a hundred and twenty lumens or more. A number of them also use LED technology for light. The price range of these flashlights can be anywhere between $35.00 and $550.00.

Ultrastinger Rechargeable Streamlight Flashlight - Batteryless Flashlights; Never Get Caught In The Dark Again

Ultrastinger Rechargeable Streamlight Flashlight

Batteryless Flashlights

As the name suggests a Batteryless Flashlight works without any requirement of batteries. One can also call it as the forever flashlight. These types of flashlights need to be shaken back and forth for few seconds and they will give light for many minutes, sometimes even hours. The main features of these Batteryless Flashlights are

1) Never needs any batteries or bulbs

2) Now with magnet and tether strap

3) Compact and water resistant.

Perhaps the biggest feature is that these flashlights are rechargeable at any time.

? Magnetic Batteryless Flashlights

The product Magnetic Batteryless Flashlight is the newest technology among the batteryless flashlights. One just has to shake the flashlights for 60 seconds and you will get up to 2 hours of light from this magnetic batteryless flashlight. These flashlights have three super bright LEDs which emit bluish white light that helps us in viewing clearly in the dark.

There is a high field strength magnet inside these flashlights, that slides back and forth inside a coil of copper wire, as we shake it to generate electric power. This power then gets stored in a small capacitor. The stored energy in the capacitor then powers the high brightness white-light LEDs.

It is prudent to turn the switch off at the time of shaking the flashlights for charging. If the switch is not turned off then pulse with the power spikes coming from the coil can be seen in the LEDs. The operating switch of these batteryless flashlights is durable and intrinsically safe. These flashlights lights are very light in weight and are completely designed to be waterproof. They are also fully portable.

? Dynamo type Batteryless Flashlights

Another type of batteryless flashlights is of dynamo type. These were the oldest technology among the batteryless flashlights. These types of flashlights have little fold-out cranks and we need to wind on for a while so that we can use the light again. In Dynamo type flashlights, by winding the cranks for a few minutes, a sector gear starts to move causing a tiny pinion gear to spin which drives a PM dynamo. The dynamo generates electrical energy which is used to light the LEDs in the batteryless flashlights. For years there have been dynamo types flashlights around that the world those work by squeezing a lever handle. Dynamo type battery free flashlights are quite reliable than the ordinary battery lights.

? Batteryless Flashlights review

The Batteryless flashlights are mainly used for emergency purpose. These flashlights sometimes come with built in FM radio. The main advantage of this Batteryless flashlight is that they are absolutely maintenance free. These flashlights can be stored for long periods of time without the worry of leaking batteries. In case of battery powered flashlights they often have their battery contacts loose & dbecome dysfunctional, but the batteryless flashlights don't go dead as you are miles away from home late at night.

The main disadvantage about these batteryless flashlights is that they are not as bright as most other battery powered flashlights, but that's a small price to pay as they are infinitely brighter than any other battery powered flashlights who's batteries are drained of energy or their bulbs are broken or burned out.

Mag Lite Flashlight Home Page - Great Adventures with Camping Flashlights

Mag Lite Flashlight Home Page

Camping being one of the great American leisure and sport has constantly changed and evolved throughout the years as technology has also found its way into the high peaks and shrouded forests. Camping is correlated with sports like hunting, tracking, trailing, fishing and it has also been used centuries ago by warring troops and tribes. As night falls and darkness covers the surroundings, a good bright fire is the most important thing for warmth and guidance. Then suddenly it pours that even the thickest leaves from atop becomes permeable killing the fire instantly. Hence the invention and development of camping flashlights

Camping flashlights today are no longer secondary to bonfires as it has been drastically modified to provide the same functions with lesser risks. These devices offer the same benefits of heat, wide range of illumination and reliability but do not include common risks a campfire could cause. Campfires can burnout from rain, needs wood every now and then to maintain, the heat cannot be adjusted and it can even cause accidents by burning linens or tents.

A camping flashlight proves to be incredibly bright. It has focused and well adjusted illumination from a much lesser light source compared to a big bonfire.

It is hassle-free. You do not have to keep working to keep it on like a bonfire. Its size is relatively small and does not take up space at all. In that sense you can keep your camp closer together around it.

Camping flashlights are dependable and reliable. Depending on the kind, its light source and power never fail. It can easily be stored and other models do not need to be recharged at all.

It provides safety and security. Some camping flashlight models use incandescent or strong xenon lamps that can be adjusted in brightness at the same time adjusting the heat it generates. Most reports say that by simply putting a sleeping bag beside these flashlights, the coldness of the night is very tolerable. Other special add-ons even include a speaker emitting a constant whirring sound that can drive away stray animals and other wildlife for added protection at night. Finally, some are designed so that mosquitoes and other insects are instantly repelled instead of being attracted to the light source.

Here are some excellent camping flashlights.

The Brunton Lamplight Extendible LED Flashlight is small-sized but doubles as a camping LED lantern by raising the flashlight housing. It has a long operational life of 200 hours needing only three AAA batteries. It also has a lifetime guarantee. Another called the Brunton Firelight has a bright white LED located in the base of a windproof camping lighter.

Petzl?s Duobelt LED headlamps provide powerful long range lighting as well as different kinds of close range lighting. This camping flashlight also has a halogen bulb for long distance lighting of up to one hundred meters and uses LED or light emitting diodes for a close range lighting of up to twenty meters. For short range lighting the LED camping lantern provides diffused white light. LEDs of this type provide an intense bright white light and never burn out. A battery pack powers this gadget which can easily be stowed in a pouch, clothing or belt.

The Jonta Camping Flashlight is a state-of-the-art model boasting no battery usage and its very own microprocessor. The most advanced of its kind, it has a 1W LED illumination, an on-board power generator and microprocessor-controlled circuitry and power generator. The on-board generator transforms your own energy into illumination. By cranking it for thirty minutes, the bulb can light up for over ten minutes. It features an AC/DC power that allows up to 24 hours per charge. It also has a brightness and flashing setting for emergency use.

The Super Sabrelite is a waterproof and shockproof camping flashlight engineered to withstand the toughest conditions. Made from unbreakable ABS plastic, it is virtually indestructible and submersible to 500 feet. It uses xenon light 32 times brighter than other xenon brands.

Finally is the Life-Light Camping Flashlight which uses the same technology as the Faraday flashlight by using magnetic induction to generate the LED. By shaking it for ten seconds a blue light runs for five minutes and it requires no batteries so you can have unlimited light source. It is also tightly sealed with O-rings making it waterproof and is designed to float on water.

However you may choose to enjoy the adventure or thrill of nature?s beauty, be sure that you?ll also be ready for it by keeping a camping flashlight at all times.
